About Us.  Darlene Sullivan, founder, was originally a stay at home mom, who with her husband Jerry have raised 4 sons.  When the last child entered school, she was asked to take over a baby exercise program at a several Santa Clara "Y"s . After the inital success, Darlene and her partner Jean decided to start their own program.  Minigym was born in the Lone Hill Church in San Jose in 1979.  During the early years she specialized in a program directed towards infants up to three years of age and her partner Jean specialized in child expressive art.  This partnership continued until the early ’90 when Darlene bought out her partner, but keeping and embellishing the artwork side of the program. Concurrent with this change, Darlene branched out into programs suitable for preschool activity.

We are proud that we have been able to serve many families that have brought their children to Minigym Explorations, Inc. Through the years we have had the rewards of watching these children grow and develop from infants to school age.  Minigym Explorations growth has been primarily by word of mouth, a testimonial passed from one family to another because of their happy experiences at Minigym Explorations through the years.
